Alanna is a professional actor, musician and dj in New York City. Alanna was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in its suburb Germantown. Her parents, Allen and Rocky Blair, supported her childhood acting ambition, and she regularly performed at local community and children's theaters. She booked her first lead role as eternal optimist Pollyanna. Alanna also studied piano throughout childhood, later adding mallet percussion and guitar to her favorite musical instruments. After graduating Germantown High School, Alanna attended University of Memphis, where she spent a year studying music performance. Next, Alanna attended California Institute of the Arts' School of Theater, where she also studied music performance and creative writing. Performances at CalArts included a flute-playing maenad in the dance-theater hybrid adaptation of "The Bacchae" directed by Mira Kingsley, a ghostly Alice in "Closer" directed by the cast, and the world premier of trans-Atlantic drama "Final Flight from Heathrow", written and directed by Ian Verdun. Her first feature film lead came in the urban drama "Frogtown", set in the isolation of the Los Angeles River canals. Other film appearances include a mental patient in the award-winning feature "Marin Blue". After graduating CalArts, Alanna moved to New York City, where she found her home in the indie arts scene. She originated the role of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme in the outrageous musical comedy "Manson: The Musical", where she sang and played guitar, piano and percussion. Her solo performance piece, "She do the police in different voices.", an adaptation of "The Waste Land" by TS Eliot, was selected to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her performance in the one-act play "The Caffeine Addict" caught the attention of filmmaker Daniel Kremer, which led to her supporting role as sardonic student/girlfriend Megan the Vegan in the travel drama "The Idiotmaker's Gravity Tour" distributed by Fandor Films, and as isolated NYC resident Chazz in the quirky drama "A Simple Game of Catch". On the sci-fi tip, Alanna landed the role as fed-up fiancé Susan in the award-winning indie television series "Pioneer One". Never one to be limited to a single art, Alanna teamed up with "Manson" co-star Alex Dunbar and his friend J Steinberg to form the epic garage band, SABABA Rocksyourfaceoff. She also became involved in NYC's drum & bass scene, where she began to DJ as Bulletproof Tiger, half of the dnb duo TankTop NYC. Her djing and acting worlds merged with her appearance in the indie series "Hustling", where she portrayed a dj and scored the scene. After landing a speaking role in "The Decision" starring Katie Holmes, Alanna joined SAG-AFTRA, plunged full-time into her acting career and hasn't looked back. Television guest spots include a suspicious receptionist on "Person of Interest" and a surly bride on "The Good Wife", while film credits include "True Story" as Jonah Hill's inquisitive co-worker, and "Life Itself" as the new neighbor of Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton. Alanna lives in Astoria with her partner Billy and their cat Preston. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Ann Wright
